Amora: A mobile remote assistant

with 2 comments

I have just installed a wonderful application called “Amora: A mobile remote assistant“. It makes my Nokia E71 work as a bluetooth mouse on Fedora, so I can use it to make presentations very easily. Strongly suggested for regular speakers and teachers. There is a video showing it in action (it’s Ubuntu, and an old release, but you get the point).

Amora server (the component required on PC side) was officially included on Fedora (as also Debian and Mandriva). The package maintainer is Allisson Azevedo.

In amora trunk, there is an applet written in Qt that offers better integration with desktop (you don’t need to keep a terminal open to use it like the video displayed). I’m planning to release a new version of Amora in the upcoming weeks.

    Best regards

It would be better if you have a Gnome tray applet, instead of a Qt applet, since Fedora focus on Gnome.
